Bus classes in Maharashtra and what each one is worth as advertising space
Buyers ask for a Shivneri or a Shivshahi by name, not for 'a bus'. Each class has its own body, its own wrap area and its own rate, and the area is the denominator of every rupee-per-square-foot comparison on this site. This is every class we can put a brand on.
Why the class decides the price
Two buses on the same route can differ by a factor of three in what they cost to wrap, because they differ in body area. A PMPML Solus gives you 450 square feet; a Switch double-decker in Mumbai gives you 1,200. Compare on rupees per square foot and the ranking changes completely from the ranking by monthly rent. Where we hold a real quote for a class, it is in the table under it. Where the area is marked estimated, it comes from the vehicle’s dimensions rather than a supplier’s rate card, so treat the per-square-foot figure as indicative.
State transport fleet · 7 classes
MSRTC classes run intercity and rural, reaching all 36 districts and every taluka town in between. This is the only way to buy highway and small-town audiences in Maharashtra: a municipal bus stops at the city boundary, an ST bus does not.
Lal Pari (Ordinary)
The red ST bus. The most widely recognised vehicle in Maharashtra and the backbone of the rural network.
Parivartan
MSRTC's newer-generation standard bus, progressively replacing older Lal Pari stock.
Hirkani (Semi-Luxury)
Inter-city semi-luxury. Longer routes, higher-income passengers, more highway running.
Shivshahi (AC Seater)
Air-conditioned inter-city seater on the state's busiest long-distance corridors.
Shivneri (Volvo AC)
The Mumbai–Pune expressway service. Premium business audience, highest-value MSRTC inventory.
Yashwanti / Vithai (Mini)
Small buses on rural and feeder routes that larger vehicles cannot work.
e-Shivai (Electric)
MSRTC's electric inter-city service. Supports a sustainability message.

Municipal classes trade reach for frequency. The same bus passes the same junction several times a day, so a city campaign buys repetition against a fixed commuting audience rather than distance.
Switch Double-Decker (AC Electric)
1,200 sq ft, the largest mobile advertising surface in Maharashtra, and a press magnet in its own right.
