What bus advertising costs in Maharashtra

Per bus, per 30 days, before GST. You pay the display rent every month. Printing and mounting is a one-off charge per bus, and you pay it again if you change the design partway through.

Pune compared with Mumbai

A 450 sq ft full wrap in Pune works out at ₹35.56 per square foot per month. The comparable wrap in Mumbai is ₹76.36. Same medium, same state, 2.1× the price. If your audience is in either city, Pune buys you far more for the same money.

How bus advertising works in Maharashtra

Six things that sit in the fine print of most bus advertising contracts. Worth reading before you plan a campaign.

Pune is booked depot-wise, not bus-wise

PMPML confirms bookings against a depot: Swargate, Katraj, Hadapsar, Kothrud, Market Yard, Corporation, Shewalwadi, Balewadi, Pimpri, Nigdi or Bhosri. You choose the depot and therefore the routes; the buses are allotted from it. So plan from the depot map, not from a list of routes.

Changing the creative mid-campaign costs money again

Display rent is monthly. Printing and mounting is a one-time charge per bus, and it is charged again in full if you change the design once the campaign is running. Lock the artwork before production starts.

Add 18% GST to every price here

Every rate on this site is before GST, quoted per bus per 30 days. Transit advertising comes under HSN/SAC 998361, so 18% goes on the total invoice.

Production needs four to seven working days

Counted from the point we have artwork, the purchase order and payment, not from the day you brief us. Build it into the launch date.

Rates move with the season

Rates move around festival periods, and most quotes hold for about three months. Treat every figure here as a guide and ask us to confirm the current rate before you build a budget on it.

Vinyl damage is not usually covered

Standard industry terms exclude torn, stolen or overlapped vinyl. We are telling you now instead of leaving it in the contract for later. We also check the fleet while the campaign runs, so damage gets fixed while it still matters.

Brief to buses on road

  1. 1

    Brief and shortlist

Tell us the city or the audience and the budget. We come back with the fleets that fit, the depots that cover those routes, and what each one costs.

  2. 2

    Artwork and approval

You supply the creative in CDR or PDF, or we adapt it to each bus class. Every operator has its own display rules; we clear the artwork before anything goes to print.

  3. 3

    Print and mount

Production runs four to seven working days after artwork, purchase order and payment. Printing, stitching, transport and installation are handled together.

  4. 4

    Run and report

Buses go live from the allotted depot. You get dated photographs at the start and during the campaign, so you can see where the buses are running.

What buyers ask first

Which buses in Maharashtra can I advertise on?

All of them, in practice. MSRTC state transport buses reach all 36 districts, and the city fleets cover Mumbai (BEST), Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad (PMPML), Nagpur (Aapli Bus), Nashik (Citilinc), Thane, Navi Mumbai, Kalyan-Dombivli, Mira-Bhayandar, Vasai-Virar, Bhiwandi, Ulhasnagar, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and Kolhapur. We work inside Maharashtra only.

What does a full bus wrap cost?

It depends entirely on the city and the bus class. A 450 square foot full wrap on a PMPML bus in Pune starts around ₹15,000 per month plus printing and mounting. The same format on an air-conditioned Marcopolo in Mumbai runs ₹32,000 to ₹52,000. An electric double-decker in Mumbai, at 1,200 square feet, is a different order of magnitude again. Our rate page shows the range for each. Ask us to confirm before you build a budget on them.

Why is Pune so much cheaper than Mumbai for the same bus?

Different operators, different demand. PMPML rates have sat well below BEST rates for a comparable wrap area for years, so the same money buys roughly two to three times the square footage in Pune. If your audience is in either city, that is worth planning around.

What is the minimum campaign duration?

One month is the standard minimum across operators. Three months is where the economics improve sharply, because printing and mounting is a one-time cost spread across a longer run, and a three-month commitment usually brings the monthly rate down as well.

Can I pick specific routes?

You pick the depot, which determines the routes. In Mumbai, BEST's 27 depots map closely onto the city's commercial geography: Backbay covers Nariman Point and Churchgate, Marol covers Andheri East and the airport, Dharavi and Kalakilla cover BKC. In Pune, PMPML confirms bookings depot-wise only. Our depot directory lists what each one covers.

How do I know my buses are running?

You get dated photographs from the start of the campaign and at intervals through it. Proof-of-posting standards vary widely across the industry, where a couple of photos at the start and end, with nothing in between, is common. We treat it as part of the deliverable, not a favour.

Do you cover states outside Maharashtra?

No. This is a Maharashtra business: city buses and state transport buses inside the state, and nothing else.

What artwork do you need, and when?

CDR or PDF, at least three days before the campaign start, and ideally earlier. Production takes four to seven working days from the point we have artwork, a purchase order and payment. Each bus class has its own template, which we supply.

Tell us the city and the budget, and we will send you a costed plan.
